Set Alarm and Alarm Alert

We would like to present two solutions, one is simple and fast to realize for users who just want to make camera work; the other one is a full guide for users who want to leverage the camera capabilities for better monitoring.
You could have a look according to your needs.

Simple Quick Guide

Quick Guide will help you to make the alarm and alert work in less than 1min.

After camera setup, if you need the camera to monitor movement in the camera view and to send alerts to your phone, please simply complete the two following steps:
1. Enable Alarm Push in app
Go to the camera’s settings –> enable “Alarm Push” under “Frequent Use”.
Each time an alarm is triggered, the camera sends an alert (alarm push notification) to the smartphone in real time. The smartphone must have an Internet connection to receive this alert.

2. Enable the general Alarm Switch of the camera.
This general Alarm switch allows you to turn the entire alarm on and off. The other alarm settings remain unchanged.
Alarm switched on:

Note: The Motion Detection is ON by default after camera setup. So once the general Alarm switch is ON,  the camera starts to monitor movements.

You are done:
After the two steps set above, the camera will start to detect movements. Once an alarm has been triggered, your phone will receive an alert.

If you want to try more detailed settings like changing detection sensitivity, set motion zones etc., check the full guide below.

About Alarm Recording:
Continuous Recording of the camera will record all the time, not only alarm events.
If you want the camera to record only when an alarm has been triggered, please check the following link after completing the two steps above, especially 2.2 Use Alarm Recording:

Full Guide with additional settings

This full guide provides instructions about further settings, such as sensitivity adjustment, motion zone settings etc.

If Motion Detection is ON, camera will use a built-in algorithm to detect movements and modifications in camera’s field of view.

– Change Sensitivity:  from 1 to 5
1 is least sensitive; 5 is most sensitive

– Set Motion Zones: click ‘Set Motion Zones’ to enter UI of motion zones.
Click ‘Add zone’ button to add a zone, then drag the center of the zone to move locations, drag the corner of the zone to adjust the zone’s size.
Click ‘Save’ button to save the zone.
You can add up to 3 zones.

If you want to edit a zone, click the ‘Edit’ button of this zone, then drag the center or the corner of the zone to adjust it.
Don’t forget to click the ‘Save’ button once you are done with the new settings.

4. (optional) Alarm Recording:
Continuous Recording of the camera will record all the time, not only when an alarm has been triggered.
If you want the camera to record only when an alarm has been triggered, please check the following link after completing the two steps above, especially 2.2 Use Alarm Recording:
https://www.wiwacam.com/video-recording-to-sd-card-in-camera/

5. (optional) Alarm e-mail
The camera can send e-mail each time an alarm has been triggered. The e-mail contains 3 snapshots of the alarm event as attachment.
For an quick and easy e-mail sending configuration (and as the most secure solution), we recommend to register a free Outlook e-mail account for the camera. The Outlook e-mail box will forward all e-mails to your most used e-mail account if you wish.
Check this link for details:
https://www.wiwacam.com/use-email-box-as-free-cloud-storage-for-alarm-images/

6. (optional) Human Detection
The camera supports Human Detection, which is powered by AI (Artificial Intelligence).
While Motion Detection detects any movement, Human Detection will check if the movement is caused by a person or a part of a person. This can help reduce many false alarms triggered by Motion Detection, such as sun light changes, moving tree leaves, pets etc.

Human Detection is not included in the camera by default. To enable it, a subscription to the SecurityPro service package is required via the app. The SecurityPro service package provides Cloud Recording, Human Detection and some other benefits. It can be purchased in the app, via App Store / Google Play.
To check or activate Human Detection:
Go to WIWACAM app -> click the settings of the camera –> Alarm Settings –>  Human Detection
