How to Open AVX in PC and MAC

1. Convert .AVX File to MP4 on PC/MAC

The camera is using .AVX file format to ensure better protection on the video streaming.
For example, when power lost happens on camera, or camera get damaged from outside brutal force, the .AVX file could make sure ongoing video streaming data will not be corrupted.

If you take the microSD card from camera, insert the microSD card to PC or MAC, PC/MAC cannot playback the .AVX file directly. We provide a tool to convert .AVX file to .MP4 file. After that, you could play back the video files on PC/MAC.

(If you operate on phone, like download the recording files from camera to phone album by WIWACAM app, the App will auto convert avx file to .mp4 file and save .mp4 in your phone album, no extra conversion is needed).

For PC, just click this link to download the tool:

Extra: Playback H.265 (HEVC) codec on Windows PC

For the .mp4 files obtained as described in section 1,  some Windows PC, especially Windows 10, may prompt that the payment of a fee is required to support HEVC in Windows Media Player.
Microsoft policy habitually is to ask for an extra small amount to get H.265 video codec support in Windows.
Some MW5, MW1 cameras are now using H.265 (HEVC) video codec in UHD resolution. H.265, also called HEVC, is one of the most advanced video codec. Compared to older codecs such as H.264 etc., H.265 provides better image with less storage, network capacities.

Here we would like to present you two free solutions allowing to add support of H.265 to Windows.
(Note: MACOS, iOS and Android support H.265 video codec by default since several years ago. Just playback the .mp4 files directly in them.)

Solution 1: VLC player
VLC player is the most famous open source free media player. It can be considered as de facto industry standard. By default, VLC player provides H.265 video codec support, without any fee.
VLC player can be download via its official website: https://www.videolan.org/
After the installation, if you want to have a try of playing back .mp4 with H.265, either double click on the .mp4 file directly, or drag and drop the .mp4 file into the VLC window.

Solution 2: install K-Lite Codec Pack free codecs for Windows Media
Visit https://codecguide.com/download_kl.htm to install K-Lite codec for your PC. The basic one is sufficient to complete the job.

After installing K-Lite codec, try to play back the .mp4 files with H.265, it should work now.
Pro:
– Adds enhancement to Windows Media Player, no need to install a different player software.
Con:
– If you use other media player software than Windows Media Player, there is no guarantee that K-Lite codec pack will auto enhance it.
